It didn't take my dog long to understand this, but I had to lift the flaps to show her that she has to lift them because her other toys are the kind that slip off or you push the toy and it pops right out. But it does take them a while to eat it, so it slows them down and also helps with their brains; it's like burning off some energy, mental energy. It's made of pretty sturdy material if my 70-pound American Bully didn't break it the first time he played with it.
